[LA-SiGMA] HPC Training: HPC User Environment, Job Management with PBS/Loadleveler

Dear All,

The next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 10:00 AM in 
307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users.

Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014: HPC User Environment, Job Management with 
PBS/Loadleveler
Schedule:
Training Lecture: 10AM - Noon
Hands-On and Consultation: 1:30PM - 4PM
This training provides an overview of the software environment, queuing 
system and running and monitoring jobs on HPC systems. This training is 
mandatory for new users.
Prerequisite: LONI or LSU HPC account (No Training Accounts will be 
provided) and Familiarity with Linux/Unix OS.

Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014: Practical Programming in C/C++ I
Schedule:
Training Lecture: 10AM - Noon
Hands-On and Consultation: 1:30PM - 4PM
C/C++ and Fortran are among the most commonly used programming languages 
on HPC (high performance computing) systems. This two-part training on C 
/C++ will provide a brief introduction to the C/C++ programming 
language. The first part will cover basic syntax and grammar. The second 
part will focus on more advanced concepts which lead to practical 
programming techniques especially useful for scientific research and 
engineering. No prior programming background is expected. This a two day 
training event held on Feb 12 and 26.
Prerequisite: Access to a computer with C/C++ compiler such as gcc such 
as LSU HPC or LONI.
