[LA-SiGMA-TESC] Technologies for Extreme Scale Computing seminar Thursday (6/26)

Hi all,


Our weekly seminar will be held on Thursday (6/26) at 12:00pm-1:00pm in the Digital

Media Center Theatre .


Dr. Valery Rousseau, a postdoc fellow in the department of Physics and Astronomy, is

going to present. The title is "How to teach a machine to think?".


Abstract: Computers are well known for they ability to execute programs
without making any mistake, and to execute only what they are told. While such
a strict obedience and logic are usually well appreciated, they prevent
computers from being "intelligent". I will present two methods, Supervised
Learning and Reinforcement Learning, that teach computers to act more
"intelligently" and illustrate them with examples.
