[LA-SiGMA-funded] One Q&A transcript

One of us asked a very good question, which I should have anticipated.  
Here is the transcript:

Q: Are you sure about the "*October 1, 2009-October 31, 2010*" 
time-frame. The grant started in October 2010, or am I wrong?

A: I should have explained that.  We discussed it, and it was decided 
that the baseline should have a one month overlap with LA-SiGMA. 
Although the grant started in October, too late to recruit students 
using these funds, some of us were able to re-code some students from 
other support to LA-SiGMA and this will allow them to count those 
students.  So, this allows us to ask questions about how many students 
were supported on LA-SiGMA funds (Q. 2, for example).  This, we hope, 
will give us a rough idea as to how quickly we got off the ground.  I 
know most of us didn't really get going until December.
