Consider ORNL.   There are some programs at ORNL, for example, programs to encourage new users for experimentation at the neutron sources, that will support students and faculty.  A contact person is Al Ekkebus.   If you detail the kind of internships you want, specifically, fraction expt vs computation, I volunteer to contact Al.
