Dear All,

One of the strategies of the external engagement plan is to "Create a repository and version control system for code development and distribution. The computational tools created by the Alliance will be archived using an integrated SVN, wiki, and Bugzilla (or other bug tracking software) system in addition to annual code releases with accompanying documentation. The Common Component Architecture (CCA) mentioned in Sec. 4.6 will also be used to ensure interoperability of code modules. Success criteria: SVN created in Y1; maintained and upgraded in Y2-5; 100 code downloads per year starting Y3."

We have now the SVN set up at https://svn.cct.lsu.edu/repos/la-sigma . For an introduction to SVN for windows, linux and command line users, please check the links in the LA-SiGMA webpage at http://www.institute.loni.org/lasigma/documents_la.php .

* This svn has restricted write access, therefore, I will need a list of people from your research team who needs write access to it. Please send me their names, e-mail addresses, affiliation, role in lasigma (undergrad, grad student, postdoc, research staff, faculty), and name of supervisor (if applicable), so that we can create an account for them. It will not be difficult to create additional accounts in the future, if necessary.*

We also created a mailing list called lasigma-devel at cct.lsu.edu where all the commit messages will be sent to, and will also serve as a mailing list where you can send questions regarding LA-SiGMA code development. Users of the SVN will be automatically added to this list.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know.

Regards,

-Bety
