The Schedule for the Fall 2015 HPC Training is available at http://www.hpc.lsu.edu/training/tutorials.php.

Our next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Oct 28 at 9:00 AM in 307 Frey and broadcast through WebEx for remote users. Note that all HPC trainings will start at 9:00AM.

Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015: Introduction to R
R is a powerful language for data analysis. In this tutorial, you will learn the basics of R, including language fundamentals, basic programming and data visualization. A few examples of using R to process real-life data will be presented as well.
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of any programming language.

Next HPC Training:

Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015: HPC in Engineering
Engineering computation problems often requires the solution of different types of partial differential equations (PDEs) which are highly computational intensive. This training will introduce several open source and commercial engineering packages that run on HPC and LONI clusters including OpenFOAM, Ansys Fluent, DualSPhysics, LIGGGHTS/CFDEM, etc. Representative examples based on Euler, Lagrangian or coupled Euler/Lagrangian methods using these packages will be presented to demonstrate the typical procedures to solve engineering problems with HPC.
Prerequisites: Some basic knowledge of Linux and HPC user environment is assumed but not required.
