Dear All,
The Schedule for the Spring 2015 HPC Training is available at http://www.hpc.lsu.edu/training/tutorials.php.
Our next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 9:30 AM in 307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users. Note that all HPC trainings will start at 9:30AM.
Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2015: Introduction to Numerical Libraries
Numerical libraries provide useful functions or subroutines for programmers. There are many advantages of using existing libs in programming. It not only saves your time and efforts, but also makes your codes more efficient and more portable. An introduction to notable numerical libs will be covered in this training. Topics will include several serial and parallel libraries such as lapack, fftw, gsl and petsc. Hands-on exercises are provided for using several classical numerical routines, such as solving linear systems, fast Fourier transform and least-squares fitting.
Prerequisites: LONI or LSU HPC account, SSH client such as Putty for Windows, Basic use of compilers (Intel or GNU) is assumed but not required.
Next HPC Training:
Wednesday, March 18,2015: Introduction to R
R is a powerful language for data analysis. In this tutorial, you will learn the basics of R, including language fundamentals, basic programming and data visualization. A few examples of using R to process real-life data will be presented as well.
Prerequisites: LONI or LSU HPC account, SSH client such as Putty for Windows
