Dear All,
The Schedule for the Fall 2014 HPC Training is available at http://www.hpc.lsu.edu/training/tutorials.php.
Note that all HPC trainings will start at 9:30AM from October, 2014.
Our next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 9:30 AM in 307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users.
Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014: Basic OpenMP
This tutorials provides an introduction to OpenMP Programming. It is structured to introduce the components of OpenMP in a concise, progressive fashion, so users can begin to apply OpenMP to their codes in a minimum amount of time.
Prerequisites: LONI or LSU HPC accounts, Understand programming in C, Fortran or C++. Examples will be in C or Fortran, Laptop with an SSH client such as Putty.
Next HPC Training:
Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014: Introduction to GPU programming
This tutorial is a basic introduction to programming GPUs using Nvidia's programming environment.
Basics of the GPU architecture, basic CUDA C programming and directive based OpenACC programming will be covered.
Some simple examples demonstrating basic techniques for getting greater performance out of GPUs will also be discussed.
No prior experience with GPU is required.
Prerequisites: LSU HPC account, Laptop with SSH client installed, Familiarity with C or Fortran
