[LA-SiGMA] HPC Training: Modern Fortran II

Dear All,

The next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 12 at 10:00 AM CDT 
in 307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users.

Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2014: Modern Fortran II
Schedule:
Training Lecture: 10AM - 12:30 PM
Hands-On and Consultation: 1:30PM - 4PM
Description: Part II of a two-part training session which provides 
Advanced Concepts in Modern Fortran such as arrays, program units and 
object oriented concepts such as derived types and operator/function 
overloading.
*Prerequisites*: /A LONI/LSU HPC account or PC with Fortran 90/95 
compiler is required./

Next HPC Training:
Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2014: Numerical Libraries
Description: This training will cover serial and parallel libraries for 
better performance. Topics will include numerical, I/O and other useful 
libraries such as lapack (netlib, mkl), fftw, petsc, hdf5/netcdf. Some 
optimizations for mpi libraries and compilers will also be covered.
*Prerequisites*: /A LONI or LSU HPC account is required. Training 
accounts will be provided to in-class participants./

*Note: We are currently working on finalizing the program schedule for 
3rd Annual HPC Week to be held on June 2-6, 2014 consisting of the LONI 
Parallel Programming Workshop and the HPC User Symposium. Users who plan 
on attending the LONI Parallel Programming Workshop to held on June 2-4, 
2014 and are not proficient with C/C++ or Fortran Programming must 
attend the training on C/C++ or Fortran Programming. Details regarding 
the 3rd Annual HPC Week will follow as soon as the program schedule is 
finalized. If you attend one of these trainings, please make sure that 
you are signed in each day (if on connect, make sure that your name 
matches your registration information, no nicknames please) to complete 
the prerequisite for the Workshop registration.*
