No HPC Training the week of Oct 7th. Users are encouraged to register 
and attend the following GTC Express webinar
Title: OpenACC 2.0 vs OpenMP 4.0 Programming Comparison
Date: Wednesday, Oct 9, 2013
Time: 12PM - 1PM
*Description*: /This webinar, hosted by Dr. James Beyer, Compiler 
Engineer, Cray Inc. will briefly introduce two accelerator programming 
directive sets with a common heritage, OpenACC 2.0 and OpenMP 4.0 device 
constructs. After introducing the two directive sets, a side by side 
comparison of available features along with code examples will be 
presented to help developers understand the subtle and not so subtle 
differences in these directive sets./

The next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 9:00 AM in 
307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users.

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013: Introduction to Perl
Schedule:
Training Lecture: 9AM - Noon
Hands-On and Consultation: 1PM - 4PM
This training gives a brief introduction to the perl programming 
language, writing perl scripts, installing and using perl modules.
*Prerequisites*: /Access to a computer with Perl installed./

Next HPC Training:
Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013: Introduction to Python Programming
Schedule:
Training Lecture: 9AM - Noon
Hands-On and Consultation: 1PM - 4PM
This training will provide a brief introduction to the python 
programming language, introduce you to some useful python modules for 
system management and scientific computing.
*Prerequisites*: /Access to a computer with Python (2.7.x preferred) 
installed./

/Beginning Fall 2013, we have changed the format of our Weekly Trainings 
due to frequent requests from attendees for longer time slots to 
complete hands-on exercises. Trainings begin at 9AM until Noon or 
earlier. After a break for lunch, attendees are welcome to sit in 307 
Frey or join remotely via adobe connect (link provided in the 
registration confirmation email) to complete the hands-on exercises 
until 4PM. HPC User Services Consultants will be available to help out 
with the exercises, answers questions related to the morning training 
session and also provide in person general consultation (topics 
unrelated to the training) on a case-by-case basis. Please fill out 
surveys for previous trainings that you might have attended at
