[LA-SiGMA] HPC Training: Overview of Numerical Libraries

Dear All,

The next HPC training will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 27 at 10:00 am in 
307 Frey and broadcast through Adobe Connect for remote users.

Wednesday, Mar 27, 2013: Overview of Numerical Libraries
This training will cover serial and parallel libraries for better 
performance. Topics will include include numerical, I/O and other useful 
libraries such as lapack(netlib, mkl), fftw, petsc, hdf5/netcdf. Some 
optimizations for mpi libraries and compilers will also be covered. This 
training requires a LONI or LSU HPC account or a system with these 
libraries already installed (our virtual image does not have these 
libraries installed).

Wednesday, April 10, 2013: Introduction to GNU Octave
GNU Octave is a high-level interpreted language, primarily intended for 
numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface 
(CLI) for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically, and for 
performing other numerical experiments using a language that is mostly 
compatible with MATLAB. It may also be used as a batch-oriented 
language. As part of the GNU Project, it is free software under the 
terms of the GNU General  Public License (GPL).

institution who may benefit from these training.
