Dear All,
LASiGMA and LSU's Department of Chemistry have invited Dr. Greg Voth of the University of Chicago. Dr. Voth will be giving a seminar this Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at the Life Sciences Annex Auditorium (A-101) at LSU. The title of his talk is "Theory and Simulation of Biomolecular Systems: Surmounting the Challenge of Bridging the Scales "
The research in the Voth group involves theoretical and computer simulation studies of biomolecular and liquid state phenomena, as well as of novel materials. A primary goal of this effort is the development and application of new computational methodologies to explain and predict the behavior of complex systems. Such methods are developed, for example, to probe phenomena such as protein-protein self-assembly, membrane-protein interactions, biomolecular and liquid state charge transport, complex fluids and nanoparticle self-assembly.
For more information about his research, you can visit his website at: http://chemistry.uchicago.edu/faculty/faculty/person/member/gregory-a-voth.html/
The seminar will be a live broadcast from LSU, and can be viewed live at the sites listed below.
UNO - Liberal Arts Building, 234
Xavier - Qatar Pavilion Conference Room, 226
Southern University - JB Moore Hall, Room 211
LATech - PML 1015, Center for Instructional Technology, at the Wyly Tower.
The seminar will also be accessible via adobe connect by clicking on following link: https://connect.lsu.edu/la-sigma/
Please let me know if you have any questions.
