[LA-SiGMA-LSU] Wednesday July 30: RET/RET Final Presentations and Talk by NSF-ACI Director Irene Qualters

Dear CCT and LA-SiGMA:

We will have our Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) and Teachers (RET) final presentations at 9 a.m. on Wednesday July 30 at the Digital Media Center Theatre. You are all welcome to attend. The schedule is shown below. Lunch will be served at noon. 

We will also have a talk by Irene Qualters, Division Director of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure at the National Science Foundation, at 5:15 p.m.: "Highly Collaborative Cyberinfrastructure for Grand Challenge Communities. Ubiquity in mobile devices, social networks, sensors, advanced computing and instruments have created a complex data-rich environment ripe for new scientific and engineering advances. In this world of computational and data-enabled science and engineering, a dynamic yet cohesive cyberinfrastructure of technologies, services, and people, is fundamental to all aspects of the discovery process. This talk will focus on NSF's vision, strategy and support of collaborative cyberinfrastructure." 

It will be followed by buffet dinner.
