[LA-SiGMA-LSU] FIRST Workshop for Postdocs and Senior Graduate Students

Dear colleagues,

   As part of LA-SiGMA's Workforce Development, Drs. Sisson and Aamodt will
offer a online workshop to Postdocs and Senior Graduate Students during this
July on best teaching practices. 

   The Online Scientific Teaching workshop will introduce participants to the 
latest in research-based teaching methods for science classes. Participants 
will experience all aspects of a learner-centered classroom. They will explore 
education research literature and learn to use research-based methods to actively 
engage students in both large and small classrooms. Each participant will leave 
the workshop with a statement of teaching philosophy and a teaching demonstration 
appropriate for job interviews. 
	    
   Please send a list of your senior graduate students to Leigh Townsend at

and/or postdocs about this exciting opportunity.

P.S. All students supported by LASiGMA MUST attend the workshop before they 
graduate. LASiGMA will offer this workshop every summer.
