[LA-SiGMA-LSU] LSU-LA-SiGMA RET program

Dear colleagues,
  I am writing asking for volunteers to help with one aspect of the LA-SiGMA Research Experiences for Teachers Program. This is part of the outreach we have promised to do in the proposal. We have agreed to participate in an existing RET program at LSU, the LaMSTI program (info can be found at http://lamsti.mspnet.org/ and details on the program can be provided by Dana Browne, who is a participant in the program).  The LaMSTI program allows teachers to get a Master's Degree from LSU in Natural Science. We will be working with teachers in LaMSTI's physics/chemistry cohort.  It is a 3 year program, mainly during the summer. We are looking for 3 volunteers to make a two year commitment to the program and 3 additional volunteers to make a three year commitment to the program.  As a volunteer, you would serve as a mentor for one teacher and help with mentoring for other members of a cohort.  Time requirements are

2-year  volunteers: 

1-2 hours/week for 6 weeks summer 2011 + 1 hour/month during the 2011-2012 academic year (on a Saturday)
2-3 hours/week 6 weeks summer 2012 + 1 hour/month during the 2012-2013 academic year (Saturday)

3-year volunteers: 

1 hour/week for 6 weeks summer 2012 + 1 hour/month during the 2012-2013 academic year (Saturday)
1-2 hours/week for 6 weeks summer 2013 + 1 hour/month during the 2013-2014 academic year (on a Saturday)
2-3 hours/week 6 weeks summer 2014 + 1 hour/month during the 2014-2015 academic year (Saturday)
