Hi all,

We are going to start the summer session of the TESC seminar this Thursday (6/11) at 12:00pm-1:00pm in 1008B Digital Media Center.

Two graduate students will be co-presenting this week. Bibek Wagle is from the department of Computer Science and Engineering and Samuel Kellar is from the department of Physics and Astronomy.  The title of their talk is "Implementation of the parquet method using HPX".

Abstract:The parquet method of approximation comes with a substantial increase in computational cost and thus careful design and optimization of the numerical implementation is one of the most important factors for successful implementation of the method . In this talk, we present the implementation of the parquet method using HPX. HPX is an open source and freely available C++ runtime System targeting High Performance Computing. HPX is useful in computationally intensive applications as it overlaps communication and computation by using futures which facilitates continuous flow of work.
