Hi all,

We will continue our weekly seminar this Thursday (9/18) at 12:00pm-1:00pm in 1034 Digital Media Center.

Dr. Xin Li, an associate professor at the division of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will be presenting this week.
The title of his talk is "Computing Geometric Mapping of 3D Objects".

Abstract:
Mapping geometric data is to establish bijective correspondence between
spatial or temporal objects. It is a fundamental geometric problem and
useful tool for effective data matching, fusion, and pattern detection
in geometric data modeling and processing. We will illustrate a few
effective algorithms in solving multiple types of mapping problems.
A few applications of geometric mapping in graphics, robotic vision,
computer-aided design/manufacturing, and forensics will be demonstrated.

PIZZA AND DRINK WILL BE PROVIDED.

Presentation time: 12:00PM~1:00PM CST
Location: 1034 Digital Media Center

The meeting will be shared through adobe connect at http://connect.lsu.edu/gpu/

Best,
Wei
