Dear LaSigma Participating Faculty,

      I want to take this opportunity to apologize for the problems that we
  encountered in broadcasting last Friday's joint LaSigma/LSU Mechanical
  Engineering department seminar. It appears that we had two problems that we
  did not solve in time for the seminar to be effectively broadcast to the
  remote sites. One of the problems was a hardware issue having to do with a
  microphone not working properly, thus preventing the seminar speaker from
  being heard. I apologize for the problems and I am working to ensure  
that they
  are properly dealt with more quickly in the future.
      I hope that this failure on our part does not dissuade you from attending
  the seminars in the future. I believe that we have lined up an  
interesting set
  of speakers this semester and I look forward to having you  
participate both in
  person and through the broadcasts.
