[LA-SiGMA-funded] Grad student professional development opportunity

Dear colleagues,
One of our LA-SiGMA outreach components provides professional development opportunities for our graduate students (Strategy 5 under Workforce Development, Page 17 of the proposal). To help accomplish this goal, LSU is hosting a National Computational Science Institute workshop from July 31-August 6, 2011. The workshop, titled: "Introduction to Computational Thinking," is open to all LA-SiGMA graduate students. Registration is now open and I request that you encourage your graduate students to sign up as soon as possible because after May 30 registration will open to other students and schools.
LSU will cover the cost of meals and housing for three instructors, as well as the breakfast and lunch for all workshop participants. Home institutions are responsible for graduate students' housing, travel, and dinner costs. These costs can be covered from each institution's LA-SiGMA travel budget (for details, please contact your campus PI or their designate).
