Dear colleagues:

For this upcoming year, the LONI Institute/LA-SiGMA seminar series will use a committee to select speakers from suggestions provided by the LONI Institute/LA-SiGMA community. The committee members are Sumeet Dua (LA Tech, Chair), Lawrence Pratt (Tulane), Dimitris Nikitopoulos (LSU), and Ward Plummer (LSU). The committee will solicit suggestions at the beginning of every quarter (June, September, December and March). Please send your suggested speakers, along with a brief description of the speaker's expertise, to Shelley Lee (sjlee at cct.lsu.edu) by the end of the day of the noted deadline for that quarter. The committee will then select speakers and notify prospective hosts. Please note that speakers suggestions will be automatically carried over to future quarters if the committee selects them but are unable to schedule their talks in the recommended quarter.

We have a limited amount of funds available to support the travel expenses for these speakers and would infact hope to have mainly internationally known researchers give these talks. The deadline for submitting suggestions for the summer quarter is June 20.

Thanks for your participation in making this program a success.

Regards,
Sumeet.
(on behalf of the LONI Institute/LA-SiGMA Seminar Committee)
