[LaSiGMA-funded] LI-LA-SiGMA seminar

The first LI-LA-SiGMA seminar for this year will be held on Jan 26th at 1.00pm. Our speaker is Dr. Sven-Bodo Sholtz from University of Hertfordshire, UK. He will arrive as part of a larger (four person) group invited by Dr. Leangsuksun (LA Tech) and will stay at LA Tech and LSU (27th and 28th). Dr. Sholtz is a key contributor to the design and implementation of the functional array language SaC, which competes with that of industrial Fortran compilers. A detailed abstract of his talk and a short bio are attached to this email.
 
Announcements:
 
1) We have finality come to an agreement on the time. All seminars will be held  every second Tuesday at 2.00pm (a preliminary time-schedule is attached).
 
2) We need speakers! It is urgent that we have at least the two spots in February filled up in the next 1-2 weeks so we can have enough time for the travel arrangements. That said, I would like to ask the PI’s, co-PI’s and faculty related to both LI and LA-SiGMA to suggest speakers ASAP. Please, make sure that the invitees are active and well known researchers in scientific fields aligned with the LI and LA-SiGMA key research areas.
