Greetings,

The LSU LA-SiGMA Outreach Coordinator, Leigh Townsend, is working to set up the Research Experience for Undergraduates for the Summer of 2011.  We plan to have a central website on the lasigma website that will be the place for students to apply to the program.  Leigh hopes to get the application and advertising for the REU out to students in the next few weeks, so we need all faculty members to submit summaries of the projects that they would like REU students to work on.  For examples, please see http://reu.cct.lsu.edu/project/index.php, which has short descriptions of REU projects for an LSU CCT REU program. Please send your project description to Leigh (lgalat1 at tigers.lsu.edu) by next Friday (January 14, 2011) so that she can post the project names and summaries to the website and include them in the application. Leigh will also send all faculty members the application and flyer so you can all advertise in your departments.
